Deal summary

• South African brewer SABMiller first expressed interest in Foster’s in June this year and originally offered 13 percent less for Foster’s, a bid which was rejected

• Corrs Chambers Westgarth advised Foster’s on the demerger of its wine business, Treasury Estates, prior to the takeover, for fees totalling A$10 million

• Allens Arthur Robinson was also the advisor to Foster’s, along with Goldman Sachs and Gresham, when the original bid was proposed and rejected
