Baker & McKenzie's Sydney office has played a leading role in the global firm's winning of a leading environment award.
The magazine Environment Finance named Bakers as the leading law firm on Kyoto trading credits and EU emissions trading for the second year in a row. Bakers' global head of climate change, clean energy and emissions trading group, Martijn Wilder, is based in Sydney.
"This is a very prestigious award, and our Sydney office plays a leading role in this area," Wilder said. "This is one of the major growth areas in the legal industry and we are at the forefront of new developments."
Wilder nominated Bakers' work in advising governments in developing nations and acting for the Asian Development Bank in relation to carbon facility projects as major areas where his practice group operates.
