Respected property lawyer and partner at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Justin Adam, has joined Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP) as a partner.
Adam joined Corrs in 2005 following the Coudert Brothers collapse, along with fellow partners Michelle Harpur and Peter Calov. Harpur left the firm in July to join Swaab Attorneys.
Adam has more than 20 years experience as a partner in top commercial law firms, including the now folded international law firm Coudert Brothers and has worked on a variety property transactions, including leasing, acquisitions, development and disposals of retail, commercial and industrial assets.
Adam has been involved in numerous large scale property transactions in Australia including the A$700m residential development involving Burswood Casino, Perth. He also acted on a joint venture between AMP and Babcock & Brown in the acquisition of a long term leasehold interest in Wharves 8 - 10 at Pyrmont, from Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and its redevelopment. The staged project, which went over 10 years, included a commercial building, over 110 luxury waterfront units and numerous marina berths.
“From coast to coast, there is scarcely a major project in which he has not been involved. His depth of knowledge and experience is exceptional and will be a tremendous asset to the skills mix of our team,” said CBP’s managing partner, Dunstan de Souza.
The addition of Adam brings the total number of partners at CBP to 29.
