Freehills has promoted two of its senior associates, Julian Lincoln from the corporate practice and Phillip McMahon from banking, to the partnership. The firm said that the start of the year appointments were the result of demand from clients for the skill and expertise the two associates have. “These appointments reflect a strong outlook in their areas of expertise and will help us continue to provide our clients with the best service and legal talent possible,” Freehills CEO Gavin Bell said.
Freehills generally makes the bulk of its partner appointments mid-year, with six partner promotions announced in June 2010 and three in June 2009.
Lincoln’s practice is focused on technology, outsourcing and intellectual property, working out of Freehills’ Melbourne office, while McMahon is a leading banking and finance lawyer who will be working from Brisbane, servicing the growing Queensland banking market.
