The 2011 Macquarie Bank ALB Australasian Law Awards are only one month away and a clear leader in the finalist tally has emerged.
Mallesons Stephen Jaques has achieved the highest number of finalist nominations, 26 in total. Coming in second on 19 finalist nominations was Freehills while third place went to Clayton Utz. New Zealand firm Russell McVeagh and Gilbert + Tobin tied for fourth place. Chapman Tripp is the second highest ranked New Zealand firm, with a tally of seven finalist nominations.
Freehills and Mallesons were the frontrunners in the finalist stakes last year as well, and by end of the night had each collected six trophies.
A total of 31 awards are up for grabs and winners will be announced on Thursday 19 May at the Westin Hotel in Sydney.
