Drew & Napier's litigation and dispute resolution team has pulled ahead of local rivals with the recent naming of two of its partners as senior counsel (the equivalent of the UK's Queen's Counsel). The appointments of Hri Kumar Nair and Cavinder Bull bring the firm's SC count to seven, higher than any other Singapore law firm.

Rajah & Tann also fared well in this year's round of appointments, with two of its top litigators - Sundaresh Menon and Lee Eng Beng - also honoured with SC status. The other two SCs announced at the beginning of 2008 were Thio Shen Yi of TSMP Law Corporation and Jeffrey Dan Pinsler of the National University of Singapore.
