Sparke Helmore is increasing its presence in the PPP/Infrastructure space following the announcement of infrastructure as a focus in Tuesday’s federal budget. The firm has appointed former Holding Redlich partner and construction law specialist Grant Parker as a construction, projects and infrastructure partner in its Sydney office.
Parker advises both the public and private sectors on major infrastructure developments and management of property and infrastructure assets and services. He has also worked on PPPs both in Australia and the United Kingdom as well as advising on sustainable development; having advised on Green Star, the National Australian Built Environment Rating System, the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme and the previously proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme. Prior to joining Holding Redlich Parker was with Gilbert + Tobin in Australia, he has also worked in New Zealand.
Parker is accompanied by senior associate Darren Rankine, also from Holding Redlich. Both appointments were effective from 2 May.
