Stephenson Harwood has added Dirk Janssen as a partner in its Singapore office. The German and English-qualified Janssen joins from Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) and will sit in Stephenson Harwood’s shipping, commodities and energy litigation practice. Jannsen is the second HFW partner to defect to Stephenson Harwood in the last 6 months. Earlier this year, specialist commodities lawyer Peter Bennett joined the firm’s London office.
Jannsen will bring the total number of partners in the firm’s Singapore office to ten. The firm was named one ALB’s Fastest Growing Law Firms in 2009 after increasing both its lawyer headcount (the firm added 5 new partners and 5 new lawyers) and revenue (revenue was up by 27% for the period ending 30 April 2009).
The firm looks set to again make the cut this year. In addition to Jannsen, the firm has brought no less than 8 new lawyers (including one partner) on board across its Asia practice since the start of the year.
