Colin Ng & Partners (CNP) has doubled the size of the partnership in its real estate and conveyancing practice group in just one month. Ho Soo Lih is the latest addition to the CNP team and his appointment brings the total number of partners in that group to four.
Ho’s appointment comes as somewhat of a surprise considering the recent appointment of two other partners to CNP in early September. Lee Kuen Yip joined the real estate and conveyancing practice group and the corporate and commercial practice group welcomed Sam Kok Yin.
However, CNP insists that this was not a strategic move planned by CNP and rather the firm is always on the look out for talent. “There is no specific reason for CNP increasing our partner numbers at this time. It was a fortuitous confluence of various factors happening at the same time that resulted in our having Mr Ho Soo Lih and Mr Lee Kuen Yip join us within a month of each other,” said Quek Li Fei, equity partner of CNP.
Ho was previously a partner with Chang See Hiang & Partners, after which he left to do some consulting work for public listed companies in Singapore before joining CNP. He has experience with a variety of real estate transactions ranging from land tenders, acquisitions and dispositions of real estate and leases to REITs. He also brings with him his expertise on banking & finance issues arising out of real estate transactions.
CNP should also benefit from Ho’s familiarity with various regulatory authorities including the Singapore Exchange, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Jurong Town Corporation and Housing Development Board.
