DFDL Mekong has appointed corporate partner Jérôme Buzenet, most recently of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, as its deputy country managing director for Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City.
Buzenet has over 10 years of expertise in capital markets and corporate M&A transactions, with particular knowledge of joint ventures, takeovers, leveraged buyouts, and structured divestitures. He frequently counsels investment banks, insurance companies, and private equity and venture capital investors.
While at Freshfields, Buzenet advised offshore institutional investors including Morgan Stanley, Nomura, Deutsche Bank, Citibank, HSBC, Barclays Capital, and JP Morgan on their investments in the Vietnamese stock market, including pre-IPO and IPO-stage investments.
“I am very excited to join the talented and experienced teams of the firm. DFDL is a unique international law firm with a Mekong region and Southeast Asia focus, and I am looking forward to using this wonderful platform to provide excellent service to our clients in their project finance and M&A transactions in Vietnam and beyond,” said Buzenet in a statement.
This recent appointment is part of the firm’s strategy of developing its Vietnam capability, and adding internationally-trained lawyers to its practice. ALB
