Al Tamimi & Co has boosted its banking & finance practice with the appointment of Jane Coakley, a former principal with Dubai’s financial services regulator.
Coakley, the former managing director of the authorisation division at the Dubai Financial Centre Authority, joins as a senior advisor in Dubai to advise partners in the banking & finance practice on regulatory issues within the free zone.
The appointment comes as the firm’s outlook becomes more optimistic. “As global financial markets show signs of stabilising, we believe that the period ahead presents both opportunities and new challenges for our clients,” said Husam Hourani, head of the banking & finance practice. “The challenges ahead will include being prepared for more intensive supervision and planning for the impact of changes which will flow from regulatory reforms.”
