Gulf law firm Al Tamimi & Company has appointed four lawyers to its partnership in Dubai. Banking & finance lawyer Jody Glenn Waugh, special projects lawyers Khalid Al Hamrani and Mohamed Khodeir and corporate & commercial partner Marcus Wallman will all be promoted effective 1 June 2009.
The firm's managing partner Hoda Barakat said that while conditions were tough for lawyers in the Gulf, investing in business development was the key to emerging from the crisis in a stronger position. "Yes, these are challenging times for everyone, but we will not hold back on rewarding those who deserve to be recognised for their efforts. Adding them to the partnership is a positive step for the future of the firm," he said.
Last month, ALB reported that the firm had reopened its Baghdad office. The firm ceased operations in the war-torn country in 2006 and relocated a number of its Iraq-based lawyers to other offices.
