DLA Piper has secured the services of lawyers Harris Chan and May Ng from Mallesons Stephen Jaques, strengthening its Asia litigation and regulatory group.
Chan joins as a partner and is noted for his work on contentious and non-contentious construction matters across Greater China.
Ng, who will join the firm later this year, will come on board as a senior associate. She is particularly noted for her work with main contractors and subcontractors on hotel and residential developments, complex commercial and manufacturing plants and other major infrastructure-related projects in Hong Kong, mainland China, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Chan's appointment and its hire of former Minters partner Pattie Walsh earlier this month are sure signs that the firm is looking to re-establish partner critical mass in its Asian offices after a number of high-profile departures earlier this year, including former Singapore-based partners Desmond Ong and Kevin Murphy to Eversheds and K&L Gates.
