Eugene Thuraisingam is the managing partner of Eugene Thuraisingam LLP, a law firm specialising in disputes and investigations. With over two decades of experience, he is no stranger to the realm of international arbitration, mediation and commercial litigation. He handles international arbitrations as well as commercial litigation in the Singapore Courts for the firm’s network of clients in the Southeast Asia region.
Sarita is a transactional and technology lawyer practicing in the areas of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets and information technology law, with a keen interest in employment law.
Anna Quah is the Asia Pacific Legal Vice President for UPS, a global leader in logistics with headquarters in Atlanta, from which UPS serves more than 220 countries and territories worldwide. Anna was also a founding member and Chairperson of the UPS Women’s Leadership Development (“WLD”) in Asia Pac.
Prior to joining UPS, Anna practiced maritime and aviation law in Singapore for about 8 years in a boutique shipping law firm, where Anna also presented several papers on maritime law at international conferences organized by the International Bar Association.
Anna has been actively contributing towards the community – including spending almost four weeks in Lower East Side, New York City, supporting homeless individuals recovering from mental illnesses. Anna also supports her local community by delivering dry food rations to needy families for YWCA Singapore monthly.
Anna Quah graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1997 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1998. In her limited spare time, Anna enjoys running, practicing and teaching yoga, bouldering (occasionally) as well as practicing in aerial (circus) arts.
Stanley Park is Managing Director and Head of Legal - Asia Pacific Region for Scotiabank's Global Banking and Markets Division. He is based in Singapore and is responsible for all legal matters across the region, including China, Japan, Korea, India, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore. Among other responsibilities, Stanley provides (i) transactional advice and support to the Bank's businesses related to capital markets, investment banking, commodities, corporate lending/trade finance and global transaction banking; (ii) regulatory advice and support re the Bank's businesses; (iii) management of litigation and disputes; (iv) advice and support to the Bank's internal or proprietary functions (including proprietary investments, HR matters, Finance); and (v) participation in corporate governance or oversight.
Prior to joining Scotiabank, Stanley was with Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton and Coudert Brothers in NYC, from 1992 - 2001; with Salomon Smith Barney and UBS Securities in Tokyo from 2001 - 2007; with DKR Oasis, as Chief Compliance Officer, in Hong Kong in 2008; with Barclays Global Investors, as General Counsel, in Tokyo from 2009 - 2010; and with Daiwa Capital Markets, as Senior Legal Counsel, in Singapore and Hong Kong from 2011 - 2014.
Stanley graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1985 and received his law degree from the Harvard Law School in 1988, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. Stanley has been a member of the New York State Bar since 1994.
Rhonda joined AccorHotels in November 2017 as General Counsel – Asia Pacific. The focus of her role is to support the various business units across the Asia Pacific - including providing legal advice on development, operational, and compliance matters.
Rhonda has over 25 years of experience as an in-house and private practice lawyer working across the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas. Previous positions include being a Partner at Ashurst LPP (formerly Blake Dawson) and as a member of the Legal Division at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
Rhonda has an Executive MBA from IE Business School (Spain) and a Master of Law from the University of NSW. In December 2020, at the 4th Singapore Chief Legal Officer Awards held by the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association, Rhonda was given the Chief Legal Officer Award (MNC Category).
DJ Goh is an APAC region chief legal counsel and risk manager with over 25 years of inhouse and private practise legal experience. He is very passionate about sharing his experience with a wider audience in the legal community as his way of giving back to the inhouse legal community.
DJ has extensive international experience in corporate, commercial, strategic, risk management, governance, compliance, finance and dispute management matters in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East regions gained with Fortune 500 MNCs (Juniper Networks, DXC/CSC Technology, Mercer & Sun Microsystems) and international US/UK law firms (Sidley Austin, Freshfields, and Ashurst).
DJ would like to share the learnings from his career journey in applying legal and other skills to new industries and businesses gained from his in-house legal experience in the information, communication, technology, consulting, financial services, transportation and investments industries and with international law firms.
Swati Singh Baghel is a Vice President in the Legal & Compliance Department. She recently relocated to Singapore from the Mumbai office. Since joining Blackstone in 2018, she has been involved in legal & compliance matters for Blackstone’s businesses in India and South East Asia, including Singapore. Prior to Blackstone, Ms. Baghel has worked at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, in its Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions Group, and in-house at an Indian diversified conglomerate, in Mumbai. Ms. Baghel received a BA.LL.B. (Hons.) from National Law Institute University, India, where she graduated at the top of her class and was a member of the NLIU Law Review.
She is a UK-trained Barrister with 13 years of Post qualification experience. Helen attended the University of Sheffield, the University of Tilburg, and the University of Law in which she obtained her law degrees. She has expertise in maritime security and international law and undertook Directed Studies on International Private Law at The Hague Academy. She further took part in the Global Solutions Program at Singularity University, based at NASA Ames, and attended the International Space University Summer Space Program with the Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Delft in The Netherlands. Moreover, she is the Founder of NewSpace2060 a startup/investor consultancy.
She is the Co-Chair of Space Debris & Space operations, VP in Enterprise Risk Management Committee at the International Aeronautical Congress, and Advisor to the Board of Global Green, Green Cross & 7Pillars.
Yosr is a bilingual multi-award-winning experienced legal counsel with both private practice and in-house background. She is admitted to the Egyptian Bar.
During her career, Yosr held various positions in global international law firms in the region allowing her to gain significant regional experience in contracts, commercial, corporate, compliance, employment and a wide range of general legal areas. She is currently leading and managing the legal and compliance matters across the Middle East in Gartner. Embracing Gartner’s Principles of Independence and Objectivity, Yosr also supports the Gartner Office of the Ombudsman in the Middle East, a team that is established to openly and assertively address issues of analytical independence, accuracy and integrity. Yosr was the first locally based legal counsel in the region and has played a key part in establishing and developing Gartner’s legal team in the Middle East. With such experience, she also has broad experience in risk management, corporate governance and compliance. Yosr is passionate about the empowerment of women and further the advancement of women rights to achieve gender equity.
She is passionate about mentorship, sponsorship, diversity equity & inclusion, women empowerment and creating opportunities for people from under-represented backgrounds and students to thrive throughout their legal career journey and creating an environment where everyone is able to achieve the same, no matter who they are and where they come from.
April Raimundo – Legal and Compliance Director, Greystar April is the Legal and Compliance Director for Greystar’s Asia-Pacific business and their first employee in Singapore. In this role, she oversees Greystar’s Code of Conduct and regulatory compliance program in the region. In addition, April spearheads legal structuring, investor documentation and acquisition activities as Greystar, the global leader in residential housing continues to invest across the region. Prior to Greystar, April spent 8 years at EFA Group as Chief Legal and Compliance officer andserved as a member of the company’s executive committee. She is credited for setting up EFA Group’s global legal and compliance framework. During her private practice career, April was in the corporate and commercial group of Quisumbing Torres, a member firm of Baker McKenzie. April is qualified to practice law in England and Wales, and the Philippines. She was named one of 5 in house counsels in the 2016 edition of Asian Legal Business’ 40 Under lawyers. She sits in the International Relations Committee and Public Law Help Committee of the Law Society of Singapore.
Currently, I am a Senior Counsel at Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd. As a regional disputes and investigations lead, I support the Downstream & Chemicals businesses in Chevron, in the Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. Key areas of responsibilities include managing litigations, arbitrations and mediations, as well as providing support on employment/human resources matters and governmental/regulatory/internal investigations.
